Perforated brick

The perforated brick produced by Łabuda Brickworks is a special type of ceramic brick distinguished by the presence of horizontal through-holes. These openings reduce the overall weight of the brick and improve its thermal and acoustic insulation. Unlike solid bricks, this type is lighter – weighing approximately 2.8 kg. Its standard dimensions (250 mm in length, 120 mm in width, and 65 mm in height) make it fully compatible with other ceramic building materials. At Łabuda Brickworks, our perforated bricks are manufactured with two holes running lengthwise, positioned parallel to the longer side of the brick’s base. This is a frost-resistant brick that maintains its original technical performance over time. It remains unaffected by harsh weather conditions, ensuring durability throughout its use.

Intended use
and application

Perforated Brick – Łabuda Brickworks
Thanks to its lighter structure and horizontal perforations, this brick is an ideal choice for constructing partition walls, columns, garden walls, and lightweight floor slabs. However, due to its reduced compressive strength, it is not recommended for load-bearing walls or foundation work.

Due to its design, it is perfectly suited for protected masonry, as a cladding layer in cavity walls, as well as for infills and brick linings.

Technical

and ecological properties

As a ceramic product, it is fired from high-quality clay mixed with sand. The firing process takes place at high temperatures, which gives the brick its durability.

drawbacks
and Limitations

Although perforated ceramic bricks offer many advantages – such as low weight, good thermal and acoustic insulation, and ease of transport – their use is limited. Due to reduced compressive strength, they are not suitable for load-bearing or structural walls. Additionally, the high water absorption rate of perforated bricks means they are not recommended for building chimneys or exterior basement walls.

In such cases, it is necessary to use other materials that offer better performance under load and withstand harsh weather conditions more effectively. Despite its limitations in compressive strength, the perforated brick remains a popular choice due to its advantages and affordable price.

Transport
and logistics

The perforated brick produced at Łabuda Brickworks is palletized in sets of 430 pieces, which makes transportation and storage more convenient. Palletization ensures stability during transport and protects the bricks from damage.

Thanks to proper protection using foil and straps, the bricks are less prone to cracking and other mechanical damage during transport and unloading. Their relatively light weight makes them easy to handle and move around the construction site.
