Solid brick / Construction brick – Class 15 or 20

Solid brick, also known as construction brick, is one of the oldest and most versatile materials used in the building industry. For centuries, it has been an essential structural component, with applications ranging from residential buildings to industrial facilities and other types of construction. This durable and strong brick is a key element in many building projects due to its ability to withstand significant loads. It is also used for decorative purposes in interior finishes and serves as an excellent material for constructing barbecues, smokehouses, and various garden elements such as fences and walkways.

Production process
and technical characteristics

At Łabuda Brickworks, solid ceramic bricks are produced using a partially automated process that involves shaping and firing clay at high temperatures. The standard dimensions of the brick are 250 mm in length, 120 mm in width, and 65 mm in height, making it easy to lay in masonry structures. Each brick weighs approximately 3.3 kg, which makes it solid enough for construction use while still convenient to handle.

A strength class of 15 or 20 means that solid bricks can withstand significant loads, making them suitable for building structural walls—both interior and exterior—as well as vaults, chimney flues, and other load-bearing elements. Thanks to their solid, non-perforated structure, these bricks offer enhanced mechanical strength and are less prone to damage. In addition, they are characterized by low water absorption and high frost resistance, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Applications
in construction
and decoration

Solid ceramic brick is an excellent material for a variety of construction applications. It is used to build structural walls—both interior and exterior—as well as vaults, chimney flues, and other load-bearing elements. Its durability and resistance make it ideal for projects that must withstand challenging weather conditions.

In addition to its structural uses, solid brick is also a popular finishing material. Its natural texture and warm red color add charm and character, making it a sought-after decorative element in kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, as well as in gardens and outdoor structures like gazebos.

Insulating and environmental properties

Solid brick is also well known for its insulating properties—both thermal and acoustic. In summer, it helps keep interiors cool, while in winter it retains heat, contributing to the building’s overall energy efficiency. Additionally, it offers excellent sound insulation, making it an ideal material for rooms facing busy streets or areas with high noise levels.

Another key advantage of solid brick is its environmentally friendly nature. Made from clay—a raw material with no additives other than sand—it is safe for the environment, emits no harmful substances, and is friendly to household members by helping to maintain a healthy indoor microclimate. This makes solid brick an excellent choice for sustainable and comfortable living.

Durability
and ease
of transport

Solid brick is a reliable and versatile building material that meets the highest standards of quality and durability. Proper sorting and palletizing ensure that our bricks can be transported in a safe and well-organized manner, enabling deliveries even over long distances. For those who value strength, reliability, and timeless style, this brick is an excellent choice for a wide range of construction and finishing projects.
